Yayoi Kusama @ NYBG
One of my favorite places in New York City is the New York Botanic Garden in the Bronx. Lucky me, I live a nearby and get to visit often. I was especially excited for my most recent visit to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibit. A few years ago, I was fortunate to see a Kusama exhibit in Dallas during a girl’s trip with my BFF. We were both moved to tears by both her story and her work.

The exhibit was delayed by one year, due to the pandemic, so I had extra time to get excited for it. Though I clearly didn’t spend my time as wisely as some. I saw a few true super-fans who created their own bespoke polka dot attire in homage to the artist. One especially dapper gentlemen was also celebrating his birthday and was in such a joyful mood, he brightened several peoples day, ours included.
